How to Beat Henry
Ending A final encounter — do not punch Henry; bait his swing into the uvula.
Henry is the final boss of Ending A (Escape / Family!). The fight happens inside a giant mouth arena after Tip helps Mellow open the last doors. Regular punches do not win — you must aim Henry’s own overhead swing at the hanging uvula.
Spoiler-heavy page. For character lore see Henry. For A/B/C routes see Endings.
Quick Answer
- Never focus on damaging Henry directly
- Watch the uvula at the back of the arena — it relocates
- Wait for Henry’s large bat / overhead swing
- Move your cursor toward the uvula so the swing arc lines up with it
- Step Mellow out of the swing path before impact
- Repeat until the encounter resolves
Ending Choice Comes Earlier
Beating Henry does not choose your ending. The A/B split is locked in the Chapter II epilogue:
| Give Roger… | Ending |
|---|---|
| Toy Saw | Ending A — Escape / Family! (this Henry fight) |
| Real Saw | Ending B — Return / Family? |

How to Reach the Fight (Ending A path)
Community route summary after the Toy Saw branch:
- Progress Chapter II with the Toy Saw given to Roger
- After late-game bathroom beats, the Toilet entity is furious that the plan collapsed
- Enter the hallway door marked Do Not Enter
- Open successive doors until you reach a cliff edge with a hole in the ceiling
- When the signpost appears, choose “Carry on with his idea” and let him boost you up
- In the mouth-shaped room, take the right door to start the Henry fight
This encounter cannot be skipped on the Escape route.
Attack Pattern & Phases
Henry uses a small set of moves:
| Attack | What to do |
|---|---|
| Bite | Block / avoid — Phase 2 can come from any side |
| Bat / overhead swing | Damage window — aim at uvula with cursor, then dodge |
| Grab / punch | Step out; do not waste the swing window trading punches |
Phase 1
Learn the wind-up. As Henry prepares the bat swing, slide the mouse toward the current uvula position so the arc intersects it, then move Mellow clear.
Phase 2
Bite attacks stop being center-only. Stay alert on block timing while you keep repeating the uvula bait loop.
The joke of the fight: you are not overpowering Henry — you are solving a timing puzzle with his body as the weapon.
Relation to Ending C
- Ending C (Stay) still needs Escape + Return unlocked first, plus the three area secrets
- On Stay runs you must fight Trapezist in Chapter II (do not skip)
- At the Chapter III epilogue, ignore “please open” and return to Mellow’s Room
- Saw choice no longer matters once Stay prerequisites are met
Full secret steps: Endings Guide.
Tips
- Update to patch 1.04+ before long boss attempts (Patch Notes)
- Save before the Saw Box and before entering the mouth arena
- If the swing misses the uvula, you likely moved Mellow or the cursor too early
- Tip’s help opening doors is story-gated — finish prior Chapter III beats first

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why can’t I damage Henry by punching? A: Direct attacks are not the win condition. Only baited swings into the uvula advance the fight.
Q: Does winning the fight unlock Escape by itself? A: No. Escape is already set by the Toy Saw gift in Chapter II. The fight is the climax of that route.
Q: Do I fight Henry on Ending B? A: Ending B (Real Saw) follows a different Return / Family? climax. This uvula fight is the Ending A set piece.
