Hardest Puzzles in Endacopia

Where Endacopia actually sticks — ranked difficulty from the Fridge puzzle to Stay's three area secrets.

Last updated:

Endacopia is a puzzle-first game. Most players clear the demo in a sitting and hit a wall somewhere in Chapter I — or, more often, in the Stay (Ending C) optional content. This page ranks the hardest puzzles by the time and reloads they tend to cost. Pair it with Puzzles hub, Stay Secrets, and Optional Bosses.

If a puzzle below feels impossible, check Tips and Patch Notes1.08 fixed several inventory softlocks around the same areas.

1. Stay — All Three Area Secrets (Hardest Overall)

The Stay (Ending C) secret ending requires three independent puzzles on the same run:

AreaToolTime costWiki
Misery Town cinemaMetal Detector30–60 minStay Secrets
TimesvilleMetal Detector + fishing1–2 hoursTimesville Fishing
OfficeTelescope + Morse30–60 minTelescope

Plus a global prerequisite: Escape + Return unlocked on prior runs and all three optional bosses fought (no Cut The Act / Case Closed / Short Circuit skips).

Failure modes:

  • Detector finds nothing — switch to windowed mode
  • Morse silent — use 1.07+ volume keys (Shift + + / −) or F9 for 100%
  • Waterfall door click-locked — patched in 1.07; 1.08 fixed Mellow behind the rock
  • Forgotten boss skip — Stay invalidates this run

Most players spend 3 hours on a Stay attempt the first time. Replays drop to ~90 minutes once you know the routes.

2. Henry Boss (Ending A)

The Chapter III mouth-arena fight on the Toy Saw / Escape route. Counter-intuitive: you do not damage Henry directly. Bait his overhead bat swing into the hanging uvula, then step Mellow out of the path.

Why it’s hard:

  • First-time players try to punch Henry — wastes stamina, loses the round
  • Uvula relocates mid-fight — retarget each swing
  • Phase 2 bites can come from any side

Full steps with timing notes: Henry Boss. Update to 1.04+ before long attempts.

3. Office Morse (Stay)

The Office telescope chain:

  1. Place Telescope near the sleeping bench figure
  2. Read CALL US! ad → phone 277-5944
  3. Open the Jobs app on an Office PC, dial the number
  4. Listen to Morse: “Behind the stairs 1 minute”
  5. Stand behind stairs by the vending machine for ~60 seconds
  6. Enter the VR helmet room

Why it’s hard:

  • Morse is quiet by defaultF9 reset on 1.07+, then Shift + + for deliberate volume
  • The 60-second wait punishes players who wander away
  • Some players miss the CALL US! ad on the train-station wall — search the area, not the Office interior

4. Timesville 18-Fish Chain

Catch every fish across all time-of-day periods. Six species × three clock periods = 18 fish. The clock cycles when you enter or exit buildings.

Why it’s hard:

  • Two full in-game day cycles minimum
  • You need the Fishing License from Catthew first
  • A 6-fish milestone unlocks the aquarium party; 18-fish is required for Stay Secrets and the I Want To Be A Fisherman achievement
  • The shared-room puzzle location (house beyond the waterfall) requires the Fish Paper Key

Patch 1.05 fixed a Timesville shack softlock when re-entering near night without the detector. Stay on 1.08+.

5. Fridge Puzzle (Beginner Trap)

The kitchen’s six-step sequence looks intimidating because of Henry’s stealth layered on top. Six steps: hammer, dice, shapes, ghost, key, switches.

Why beginners stall:

  • They do not realise Henry’s patrol starts when the puzzle begins
  • The right cabinet for hiding is not obvious
  • The fridge puzzle requires the right-click action cycling (Tips)

Veterans clear the Fridge puzzle in 5–10 minutes. Beginners can spend 30 minutes. Full walkthrough: Fridge Puzzle.

6. Doodle Maze

The black-and-white tunnel in the Circus with hands tunnel maze. Doodle figures animate; you follow them to recover Hands.

Why it stalls:

  • Monochrome route is disorienting
  • Easy to walk past the wrong figure
  • Some figures loop back; correct route requires the right-hand path

Deep page: Doodle Maze.

7. Dice — Against All Odds

Three gamblers — Green Boss, Baby Man, Copy Printer — in the Gambling Den of the Office. Beat all three for the Against All Odds achievement.

Why it’s hard:

  • Dice crashes were chased through patches 1.01–1.06
  • 1.06 is the build to use — pre-1.06 dice crashes frequently
  • Even on 1.06, the NPC can teleport into the elevator on 1.07 — fixed in the patch
  • Win condition is dice-specific, not random — read each gambler’s pattern

Achievement: Against All Odds (~31% Steam global unlock).

8–10. Optional Bosses

Each optional boss has a fight and avoid route, mutually exclusive per file. Full steps on Optional Bosses.

BossHardest part
TrapezistFight: kick the balls Lane by Lane. Skip: Scalpel on the left rope — must happen before the fight dialogue.
ChameleonSkip: five-question quiz with Ozzie / Ollie name answer — re-check the graveyard every file.
AISkip: fill the transparent mug at the Office cooler, pour on the outlet in the front-left corner, answer Green O / Green O / Red X.

Common Difficulty Reasons (Patch-Aware)

If a puzzle feels impossible, check Patch Notes — pre-1.08 builds had:

  • Camera broken on the green mug (1.08)
  • Misery Town inventory softlock while walking to clown rooms (1.08)
  • Metal Detector silent when one item was left (1.08)
  • Telescope crash near locked doors (1.07)
  • Dice crash on Gambling Den entry (1.06)
  • Boone room-exit softlock (1.06)
  • Volume stuck at 0F9 reset is 1.07+

Always confirm Steam shows 1.08 before long puzzle sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the single hardest puzzle in Endacopia? A: The Stay three-secret chain — same-run prerequisite across Misery Town, Timesville, and Office. Most players burn 3 hours the first time.

Q: I am stuck on a puzzle and the wiki does not have it. A: Check Tips for the right-click verb rule, then Patch Notes for softlock fixes. If still stuck, the puzzle may be a sequence break that requires a specific prior item.

Q: Did AndyLand make the game harder in patches? A: No — every patch fixes bugs or adds QoL (Cloud, F9, dice stability). Difficulty is unchanged since 1.0. Stay is the only intentional difficulty escalation.

Q: Can I skip Stay entirely? A: Yes. Escape and Return are reachable on first playthroughs without Stay. Stay is the secret endingEndings details.

Q: Are puzzles randomized per playthrough? A: No. Endacopia puzzles are deterministic — once you know the steps, they repeat identically.
