Misery Town
Later-chapter hub — cinema secrets and the remote puzzle for the Stay ending.
Misery Town is a major hub area in Endacopia’s later chapters — alongside Timesville and The Office. It hosts one of three secret puzzles required for the Stay ending and expands the world beyond Chapter 1’s Green Hills triangle.
Overview
Misery Town appears after significant story progression in Chapters II–III. The area has a distinct miserable, run-down aesthetic matching its name. Like other Endacopia hubs, it supports non-linear exploration and contains optional content tied to achievements.
Stay Ending Secret — Remote & Map
This puzzle is mandatory for the Stay ending. You must unlock Escape and Return on prior playthroughs first, then complete all three area secrets in one run.
Steps
- Obtain the Metal Detector from Timesville (Beartha PGD quest chain)
- Travel to Misery Town cinema
- Switch the game to windowed mode (recommended for floor-search precision)
- Use the Metal Detector on the sandy cinema floor
- Dig when prompted to find a remote control
- Use the remote to reveal a map on the cinema screen
- Capture or memorize the map layout — it is used in later Stay puzzle steps
Missing this secret prevents the Stay ending even if Timesville and Office secrets are complete.
Exploration Tips
- Save at a wandering save point before attempting Stay secrets — see Save System
- Keep a near-complete Chapter I save to reload if any of the three secrets fails
- The saw choice (Toy vs Real) in Chapter II does not affect Stay once prerequisites are met
