Two coins from a cockroach — the only path to the Wall Bank password and the Cheshire door.
The Coins are a pair of inventory items obtained in the Prologue by luring a cockroach with the Cheese. They are fed to the Wall Bank to reveal the password Cheshire, which unlocks the bathroom door and triggers the demo ending / Chapter 1 transition.
How to Obtain
- Solve the Fridge Puzzle in the Kitchen → receive the Cheese
- Return to Mellow’s Room
- Place the Cheese in the hole above the framed Wall Bank creature
- A cockroach emerges and crawls toward the cheese
- Click on the cockroach when it reaches the framed creature to step on it
- The cockroach drops 2 Coins

Uses
Feeding the Wall Bank — Cheshire Password
The two Coins are the only way to obtain the Cheshire password. With both coins in inventory:
- Interact with the Wall Bank (the framed cube creature on Mellow’s room wall)
- The Wall Bank accepts one coin at a time
- After both coins are deposited, the Wall Bank reveals the word Cheshire
This password is entered in the Bathroom to open the Cheshire door — the final door of the demo and the portal to Chapter 1.

Q: Can I get more than 2 coins? A: No. Only 2 coins exist in the game — obtained from the single cockroach encounter.
Q: What happens if I feed only 1 coin to the Wall Bank? A: The Wall Bank will accept the first coin but will not reveal the password until both coins are deposited. You can return to deposit the second coin later.
Q: Can I skip the coin chain and get Cheshire another way? A: No. The coin chain is the only source of the Cheshire password. This is not a missable softlock if you still have the cheese and can re-enter Mellow’s room.
Q: Are these coins used anywhere else in the game? A: No. The only use for the coins is feeding the Wall Bank to get Cheshire. They have no other value in Chapter 1 or beyond.

Can I re-collect coins if I lose them?
If you still have the Cheese and can access Mellow's Room, you can repeat the cockroach lure. The coins respawn each time you reload Mellow's Room with the Cheese in inventory.

The coins and Cheshire password are required to complete the demo (prologue). Chapter 1 onwards does not use the coin mechanic.
