Puzzles & Solutions

Endacopia is fundamentally a puzzle game. Every door, item, and progression point is gated behind some form of puzzle — whether a logic puzzle, an inventory puzzle, or a combat challenge. This hub documents every puzzle in the demo with full solutions.

Puzzle Categories

Computer Puzzles — Interacting with the PC in Mellow’s room to run programs like Doors.exe.

Inventory Puzzles — Finding the right item and using it on the right object in the right sequence.

Password Puzzles — Entering specific words or phrases into terminals or NPCs.

Combat Puzzles — Enemies that must be defeated using specific timing and strategy.

Environmental Puzzles — Room navigation, object manipulation, and spatial reasoning challenges.

Demo Puzzles

Doors.exe (Computer Puzzle)

The first major puzzle involves finding and running the Doors.exe program on Mellow’s computer. Interact with the computer, locate the program on the desktop, and run it. This causes a door to appear in the overworld, which is your first progression point.

Kitchen & Coins Puzzle

Fridge Puzzle

Complex kitchen sequence: hammer, dice, shapes, ghost, key, switches. Full solution on Fridge Puzzle.

Wall Bank Password Puzzle

The Wall Bank is a living cube hidden behind Mellow’s drawing. It requires coins before revealing the password Cheshire.

To solve: complete the Kitchen & Coins puzzle first, then feed both coins to Wall Bank behind the drawing on the wall.

Bathroom Sequence Puzzle

The bathroom puzzle is a timing-based interaction sequence:

1. Pick up the plunger from the bathtub area
2. During the cutscene, position your mouse above the red part of the plunger and slightly to the left
3. Open the inventory immediately (press Esc to close menus quickly)
4. Select and use the plunger on the toilet
5. When dialogue options appear, always choose the top option
6. Enter Cheshire when prompted for the password
7. Click OK to trigger the demo ending

Puzzle Design Philosophy

Endacopia puzzles are characterised by their opacity. The game does not explicitly tell you what to do — you must examine objects, infer relationships, and experiment. This design is intentional and aligned with the analog horror genre’s preference for discovery over instruction.

Adding Puzzle Solutions

To document a new puzzle, create a JSON file under content/source/puzzles/ with the puzzle name, location, solution steps, and any relevant hints or warnings. Link to related walkthrough or item pages.
