Genesis 01

Genesis 01 is a Chapter I NPC AndyLand named in the official 1.08 notes. The public patch line is short and mechanical: Genesis 01 would freak out temporarily if you equipped the Skateboard while pressing a button.

That is enough to put Genesis 01 on the wiki. Players hitting a sudden animation / AI panic during a button conversation should check their feet — you are probably still rolling.

What We Know From Official Notes

Andy does not publish a lore dossier for Genesis 01. Treat the character as a named interactable on the Chapter I map (Timesville / Green Hills traversal, same neighborhood as skateboard use). The important player-facing facts:

• Interaction is button-based (world button or talk prompt while a button is held)
• The freak-out was temporary on 1.08 — leave and re-enter if it still looks wrong
• The trigger is equip Skateboard + press button, not “owning the Skateboard”

If a guide tells you Genesis 01 is a boss, that is wrong. Bosses with Steam achievements are Trapezist, Chameleon, AI, Clocky, and Henry.

Safe Interaction

1. Stop skating
2. Open inventory and unequip the Skateboard
3. Press the button / start the line
4. If Genesis 01 already panicked, leave the room and come back on 1.08+

Same hygiene as Scribbly (put the pencil away before you walk out) and Misery Town clown approaches (do not open inventory mid-walk — 1.08).

Why the Name Matters
