Wrench

The Wrench is a Chapter 1 The Office tool obtained through the Flower → Wrench → Core Key chain. It removes the Office water cooler panel so a hidden Core Key drops from the plumbing, then doubles as a glass-wall smasher to raise productivity and reach locked employee spaces. You cannot skip the Wrench if you want the Core room progress, Malia’s Airplane Tickets side beat, or the full Office route documented in the Walkthrough.

The chain starts in the Gambling Den — not the main Office floor — so complete Credibility phone calls first, then take the elevator reassessment path to the dice wing.

Step 1 — Transparent Mug

After every workstation phone task finishes and you pass elevator reassessment with money-focused answers, the game routes you to the Gambling Den. Immediately after exiting that elevator, grab the Transparent Mug on the floor to the right. Nearby slot machines are optional — the mug is the critical pickup.

The mug also enables an optional brawl in Timesville’s party room later if you still carry it (Beartha chain) — unrelated to the Wrench trade but worth keeping in inventory until Beartha’s apartment revisit.

Step 2 — Flower from the Office Plant

Return to the main Office building with the mug:

1. Fill the Transparent Mug at the corner water cooler
2. Pour water onto the office plant
3. Collect the bloomed Flower

This is the same water cooler you will revisit with the Wrench — do not confuse the pour step (needs mug) with the panel removal step (needs Wrench).

Step 3 — Train Station Trade

Take the Flower back along the train station path outside the Office complex. A figure holding a wrench waits at the station — trade the Flower to receive the Wrench.

If the NPC does not react, confirm you finished Gambling Den entry (Transparent Mug pickup) and are carrying the Flower, not the empty mug.

Step 4 — Core Key from the Water Cooler

Bring the Wrench to the Office water cooler again:

1. Use the Wrench to remove the front panel
2. Turn the water on
3. A hidden Core Key drops from inside the pipe

Second Use — Smash the Glass Wall

Even with the Core Key, the Core room may stay locked until productivity rises. Use the Wrench to smash the glass wall between Office zones, then speak to every employee.

After tickets are delivered, Office productivity advances enough to continue toward Timesville for Eyes and Catthew content.
