Prologue Boss — Clocky

Location: Hallway, after leaving Mellow’s room via Doors.exe

Clocky is the first combat encounter and serves as the game’s combat tutorial. The fight uses a first-person perspective with block and counter mechanics.

Attack Pattern

Clocky telegraphs attacks with a lean forward. Watch for the visual cue and block with right-click before countering.

Strategy

  1. Block with right-click when Clocky leans forward
  2. Counter with left-click immediately after successful block
  3. Repeat for approximately six rounds to defeat Clocky

Chapter I Bosses

Chapter I contains three optional bosses, each with mutually exclusive fight/avoid achievements. This design requires multiple playthroughs for 100% completion.

The Trapezist

Location: Circus arena, accessible after Whack-a-Mole and Doodle Maze

The Trapezist is a high-wire performer who attacks from above. The fight requires timing and positioning.

OutcomeAchievementCondition
DefeatFatal Performance (~68.9%)Fight and win
AvoidCut The Act (~20.6%)Use Scalpel on left rope before landing

Fight strategy: Position under the trapeze and strike when The Trapezist swings within range. Block counterattacks as needed.

Skip route: During the approach sequence, find the Scalpel in the Medical Tent. Use it on the left rope while The Trapezist is airborne — this cuts the rope and avoids the fight entirely.

The Chameleon

Location: Timesville area, triggered after graveyard progression

The Chameleon is a shapeshifting enemy who mimics different forms during combat.

OutcomeAchievementCondition
DefeatNo Strings Attached (~62.0%)Fight and win
AvoidCase Closed (~31.0%)Answer grave name quiz correctly

Fight strategy: Watch for visual cues indicating which form The Chameleon takes. Strike when the opening appears.

Skip route: When prompted with the grave name quiz, provide the five correct answers. This bypasses the fight and awards the Case Closed achievement.

The AI

Location: Office area, triggered after button puzzles and personality survey

The AI is a computer system with multiple attack phases.

OutcomeAchievementCondition
DefeatSystem Override (~55.1%)Fight and win
AvoidShort Circuit (~10.3%)Solve cooler puzzle correctly

Fight strategy: Each phase requires different positioning and timing. Watch for attack patterns and respond with appropriate blocks and counters.

Skip route: Before triggering the fight, solve the cooler puzzle: pour water from the Office cooler into the Core outlet, then enter the combination Green O / Green O / Red X. This short-circuits The AI without combat.

Location: Chapter II sequence, after giving saw to Roger

AchievementCondition
